TINUBU RETIRES SERVICE CHIEFS, APPOINTS NEW
President Bola Tinubu, has issued immediate retirement of all service chiefs, inspector-general of police and comptroller-general of customs from service.
A statement by the director of information, Willie Bassey on behalf of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume said that the president has also appointed new service chiefs to resume with immediate effect.
The retired officials are General Lucky Irabor as the Chief of Defence Staff; Lt-Gen Faruk Yahaya as the Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral Awwal Gambo as the Chief of Naval Staff; Air Vice Marshal Isiaka Amao as Chief of Air Staff; Babagana Monguno as National Security Adviser; Alkali Usman Baba as Inspector-General of Police and Hameed Ali as Comptroller-General of Customs.
A former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu, who was initially appointed as special adviser on security was elevated as new National Security Adviser.
