PLATEAU BYE ELECTION: ADP CONGRATULATES ITS SENATOR ELECT, PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE
The Action Democratic Party (ADP) has congratulated its standard bearer, Prince Pam Nwadkon Dachugyang who emerged senator-elect at the re-run election for Plateau North senatorial district conducted last Saturday.
The national chairman of ADP Engr. Yabagi Yusuf Sani at a press briefing on tuesday in Abuja heartily congratulated the senator-elect and expressed confidence in his ability to represent the party and the people of Plateau North in the 10th national assembly.
He conveyed the party’s excitement for the outcome of the election which he described as a clean sweep of 122, 442 votes after beating the other nine candidates with a wide margin against his close rival.
He said that the emergence of Prince Dachugyang as the senator for Plateau North is a journey towards building a peaceful coexistence that will make Plateau state to reclaim its position as home of peace and tourism.
He assured that the people of Plateau North and Nigerians will have effective representation in the upper chamber of the national assembly.
The ADP chairman urged the senator-elect to uphold the tenets and political philosophy of the party.
Pointing out that the re-run election was a product of initial backstaged machinations to subvert the will of the voters, he appreciated the governor of Plateau state, Barr. Caleb Muftwang, the chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu, state chairman of ADP, Mr Bitrus Boyi, security agencies and the electorates for ensuring that the election was free, fair, credible and peaceful.
