NYSC: DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION AND PUBLIC RELATIONS SETS TO RETIRE, APPRECIATES MEDIA
Having attained the mandatory retirement at the age of sixty years for civil servants, the Director of information and public relations, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Mr Edwin Megwa is due for retirement with effects from 25th August.
Announcing his retirement with excitement and fulfilment during his valedictory session with the media today in Abuja, he appreciated the media and his team members for the cordial working relationship he had during his tenure.
He stated that their support contributed to his immense success as the 28th image maker of the NYSC.
He charged the media to uphold the professional ethics of journalism and give the scheme positive reportage that will enable it to continue to discharge it mandate effectively.
He advised them to make clarifications whenever the need arises to avoid false and misleading reportage detrimental to positive image about the scheme.
He pointed out that the demands of administering the activities of corps members require the support of all stakeholders involved in the scheme.
The outgoing director appealled to the media to accord more support to his successor in order to succeed in the discharge of duties.
