FEPA RAISES HEALTH ALERT ON DANGEROUS AIR POLLUTION
Federal Environmental Protection Agency (FEPA) has advised that specific precautions should be taken against dangerous air pollution manifesting in resemblance to harmattan.
Available information from the agency said that the current change in weather and atmosphere across the country is not harmattan but an extreme form of air pollution with dire consequences on human health
It explained that the pollution if not contained can lead to :
*Reduced Lung function
* Respiratory infection
* Inflammation
* Oxidative Stress (low level of antioxidants which even creates an imbalance in your body)
Consequently, people are advised to:
*Mask-up (wear nose mask)
*Stay hydrated (Drink more water) preferably warm water and avoid cold water
*Cover food and water very well to prevent dust from settling on them.
*Wash fruits very well before eating
*Stay indoors as much as possible as condition may stay for a considerable period of time.
*Take note, adhere strictly to the rules, keep family and friends informed.
