CHAIRMAN FCT TABLE WATER PRODUCERS URGES COLLEAGUES TO IMPLEMENT IMPROVED STANDARD FROM NAFDAC/SON TRAINING
| The Chairman , Association of Table Water Producers of Nigeria (APWAN) Abuja chapter, Honourable Akwuh Muhammed has advised all members in the federal capital territory to ensure that there is appropriate implementation of the innovative and improved standard training offered by National Agency For Food and Drug Control (NAFDAC) and Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON).
Speaking at a two-day training on good manufacturing practice and book keeping held on tuesday in Abuja, he said that the members should ensure that they take the training seriously and implement the knowledge from the various sections of the training so that the water they produce will not be health problem to anybody. He explained that the training organized by APWAN, FCT in conjunction with NAFDAC and SON was brought about by the directive of the regulatory agencies for the producers to learn from new researches and innovative ideas of table water production that are acceptable and can meet up with world standard. He said that the regulatory agencies have warned that they will go round FCT for a routine check to see if the producers will implement the knowledge from the training in their various production factories. ” Water is life, despite the economic challenges, water is one of the cheapest available commodities, so we will try our best to be providing purified water to our consumers, if we produce any how water we don’t know who is taking it, this is what NAFDAC is warning us about, it might be your son, daughter or siblings that may drink the poison you produce if you are producing bad water” The ATWAP chairman who commended the training, expressed happiness over the quality of the training and the large number of participants saying that the association has never had such crowd in its programmes. He however pointed out that not all producers availed themselves despite its importance to their production. He said that the association has different zones and units where the zonal and unit chairmen will be able to report the members that did not attend the training so that they will be forwarded for another training or anything that will be done to them by the regulatory agencies. He noted that nobody will call or blame him if they are found wanting by the regulatory agencies during the routine check.
