DR CHETACHI IN CONJUNCTION WITH NOGALSS AWARD SCHOLARSHIP, CRITICAL SUPPORT TO THE NEEDY
Some indigent children and several widows in Abuja on Thursday heaved sigh of relief as they became recipients of scholarship and critical support by the benevolent activities of Dr Chetachi Nwoga Ecton through her When In Need Charity Foundation in collaboration with the Nigerian Non-Governmental Association for Literacy Support Services (NOGALSS).
In her commitment to the empowerment and upliftment of vulnerable members of the society into a brighter future, she awarded scholarships to ten primary school children to help them to start their Educational journey, scholarships to ten secondary school students to ensure that they stay on track to complete their studies, ten skill acquisition trainee with practical skills for economic self reliance and a special scholarship to empower a young widow to return to school and achieve her dreams.
The event also incorporated early christmas give aways through her distribution of essential food items, wrappers and other incentives to spread holiday cheer and needed support for the festive season.
The christmas critical support for three hundred widows cut across hundred Abuja traders, widows and men especially relief to those affected by the recent fire outbreak in markets within Abuja and support for two hundred widows of civilians, military and police with immense challenges.
Speaking at the event, Dr Chetachi who narrated her ordeal before attaining her level, admonished the participants not to allow themselves to be deterred in life by contrary circumstances.
The president of NOGALSS, Comrade Noah Emmanuel said that the scholarship programme is a part of the mission of NOGALSS to promote literacy and lifelong learning.
He said that the programme addresses immediate needs and also lay a foundation for sustained empowerment through education and skill acquisition.
He pointed out that together with Dr Chetachi and their esteemed partners, the programme demonstrates the transformative power of collaboration.
