2023 CENSUS: NATIONAL POPULATION COMMISSION HOLDS STAKEHOLDERS’ SUMMIT 11TH AUGUST
President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to declare open the national stakeholders summit on the 2023 population and housing census slated for Thursday 11th August at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.
A statement by the Director, Public Affairs, National Population Commission (NPC), Dr. Isiaka Yahaya, said the summit, organised by NPC with support from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), aims to broaden the national support base for a successful conduct of the 2023 census.
It explained that the summit is expected is seek the cooperation and support of key stakeholders for the census, generate and sustain public awareness on the imperativeness, timeliness, status of preparations, methodology and procedures to be adopted, technological innovations and upcoming preparatory activities in the census calendar.
President Buhari will also perform the public presentation of the 2023 census project document.
Top government officials at federal and state levels, traditional institutions, media, civil societies, religious organizations, women and youth groups, academia, private sector and development partners are expected to participate in the summit.
